Xenowardens aboard a UC Bloom starship bond with it, and as more people bond with it over time, the Bloom starship grows much larger and bears fruit, becoming known as a Gardenship once they reach a certain size threshold. A Gardenship disperses seeds capable of exploding on command. Xenowarden enclaves are often surrounded by a field of natural orbital mines placed by the Gardenships that carried the Xenowardens who established the enclave.

The Gardenship can have only three deployed seeds at a given time. If it would deploy a fourth, one of its previously deployed seeds is destroyed.
