SFS Standard Civusdaemon (Social Daemon) Creature 8

Born from infospheres and digital networks, the civusdaemon is a force of malign intent who bends online spaces to torment mortals. Representing death through oppression and hate from social media, these daemons act in the shadows, tormenting their foes to such a ruinous extent that they often take their own life.

Eyes on the Infosphere A civusdaemon knows the presence of any creatures connected to any local infospheres it has access to. A creature who is connected to an infosphere is visible to the civusdaemon as a precise sense. Disconnected creatures who've been active on an infosphere within the past day leave enough residual trace that a civusdaemon can sense them as an imprecise sense.

Profile Picture (divine, illusion, visual) A civusdaemon appears as a strangely two-dimensional version of a creature of their choice. Creatures targeting the civusdaemon must succeed at a DC 5 flat check to do so, as if the civusdaemon were concealed. A creature who succeeds at this check automatically succeeds at further such flat checks for 1 round.

Character Assassination (divinedowntime) The civusdaemon targets the online reputation of a creature it's aware of on a shared infosphere. After 1 day of downtime, the civusdaemon attempts a Computers check against the target's Computers DC. If successful, the target takes a –2 circumstance penalty to all checks made on that infosphere because of damage to their reputation. The civusdaemon can maintain this effect each day by spending another day of downtime without needing to attempt an additional check. If the civusdaemon maintains this for a week or more, the penalty increases to –4. The creature or an ally of the creature can spend a day of downtime to attempt a DC 26 Computers, Deception or Diplomacy check to counter the character attack. On a success, the civusdaemon's efforts end, and the target becomes immune to this ability for 1 month. On a critical success, the target or ally also identifies a specific location that the civusdaemon operates out of, such as one where it frequently connects to the infosphere.

Daemon

Hailing from the plane of Abaddon, daemons are utterly devoted to the destruction of all life. Their existence is based around specific means of death, and they seek the death of all things in service to their lords: the Apocalypse Riders. Each daemon represents a different way to die, and they use their specific powers to further that means of death.

Advents in technology have only created new means of death and torment, so new types of daemons enter existence with regularity, each created once a sufficient mass of new deaths occurs to spawn them. These new advent daemons often prefer to spend their time in the galaxy rather than Abaddon, as they can better spread their torments to the mortals of creation.
