SFS Standard Wyspiria Creature 11

Whether they were created by the god Triune, the arc spectra Facilian, or by the Drift itself, wyspirias are a new evolution of spectra first encountered within the last few decades. Metaphysicians often explain wyspirias in contrast against iridias as spectra emissaries; where iridias travel the galaxy to share gifts of technology and information, wyspirias instead come to mortal worlds on a mission to collect and preserve mortal art and knowledge, storing it within themselves or bringing it back to the Drift for reasons as of yet unknown.

Wyspirias' glass-like bodies include a cascade of tentacle-like cords descending from their waists, which they use to plug themselves directly into both people and machines. Because their tentacles can resemble the outstretched roots of a small, floating tree, the librarian spectra are sometimes known as “trees of knowledge.” They use their networks to transfer data and share emotional or sensory experiences between participants.

Though accounts of wyspirias appearing on mortal worlds are extremely rare, they've been known to sometimes involve themselves as mediators between warring civilizations. They work to ease tense negotiations at peace talks by connecting the opposing delegates to one another, enabling various parties to experience each other's perspectives. It's widely believed that spectra only dispatch wyspirias to intervene in mortal conflicts when a war could result in the loss of important information, prevent the discovery of future innovations, or interfere with the Drift itself.

Arc Network The wyspiria can communicate through items and creatures with the tech trait, projecting sound from and speaking through the item or creature's voice, speakers, or other audio output. In addition, the wyspiria can use any item or creature with the tech trait within their digital telepathy aura as the point of origin for their spells and abilities when calculating range, distance, line of effect, and area of effect.
Slip Drive An wyspiria has an internal biomechanical Drift engine, allowing them to function as a Drift engine for a starship or vehicle they pilot as a 1-minute activity. An excuba can enter or exit the drift themself as a 1-minute activity. When an wyspiria gets a critical failure on a Piloting check to Navigate or Plot a Course through the Drift, they get a failure instead.
Techsense The wyspiria senses creatures and objects with the tech trait as a precise sense within the listed range.

Digital Telepathy (aura, occult, tech) 100 feet. An iridia can communicate telepathically with any item or creature with the tech trait within their aura, as well as with other technologically telepathic creatures (such as those with shortwave and similar abilities). This ability also allows the spectra to remotely attempt Computers checks within their aura.

Borrow Time [free-action] (occult) Frequency once per minute; Trigger The wyspiria's turn begins; Effect The wyspiria pulls potential energy from their future self to use in the present. The wyspiria becomes quickened this turn and can use the extra action only for Fly, Stride, and Strike actions. At the end of the wyspiria's turn, they become slowed 1 until the end of their next turn.
Connect (occult) When a wyspiria Grabs a creature with a tentacle Strike, they automatically plug one of their many cordlike appendages into it. The sudden connection feeds the creature a stream of information and fabricated sensory data, making them stunned 1 unless they succeed at a DC 30 Will save. If the wyspiria moves, they bring the grabbed creature along with them. The wyspiria doesn't need to use additional actions to keep the creature grabbed; the creature remains grabbed as long as it's connected. The grabbed creature can attempt to Escape (DC 30) as normal. The wyspiria can connect with up to 10 creatures simultaneously.
Overload Connections [two-actions] (incapacitationoccult) Requirements At least one creature is connected to the wyspiria's tentacles; Effect The wyspiria maintains their connection. All connected creatures must attempt a DC 30 Will save.
Critical SuccessNo effect.
SuccessThe creature becomes stunned 1.
FailureThe creature becomes stunned 2.
Critical FailureThe creature becomes paralyzed for 1 round.
Piercing Signal [two-actions] (electricityoccultsonic) The wyspiria emits a series of synthesized squeals. Each creature in a 20-foot emanation takes 6d6 electricity damage and 6d6 sonic damage (DC 30 basic Fortitude save) and is deafened for 1 minute on a failure (or 10 minutes on a critical failure). While a creature is deafened in this way, it also can't understand telepathic communication or any message conveyed by a tech device—for example, the target perceives text on comm units or other digital displays as scrambled text. The wyspiria can't use Piercing Signal again for 1d4 rounds.

Spectra

In the Great Beyond, time is measured not in hundreds, thousands, or millions of years, but rather in eons—in iterations of reality itself. Only rising to prominence within the last three centuries alongside the advent and proliferation of Drift technology, spectra have thrived in a burgeoning niche of the otherwise stagnant zeitgeist of the Great Beyond.

Though their origins and objectives remain shrouded in mystery, encounters with spectra revolve around new technological discoveries, sharing the knowledge of faster-than-light travel, and protecting the Drift. No one knows if spectra existed before the Drift, but their connection to the hyperspace plane is indisputable. Prominent metaphysicians believe spectra were created as amalgams of raw quintessence pulled into the Drift, just as the Drift itself grows from pieces of the Multiverse. If this is true, spectra's interest in the proliferation of Drift technology takes a subtle sinister turn, as each new Drift engine serves to harvest the Great Beyond and all its denizens for the growth of the Drift and spectra themselves.
