Battle Stations

The following new terms relate to battle stations.

Bay: A room on board a starship. A bay typically houses a battle station, holds cargo and munitions, or is part of an expansion suite such as a science lab. Identify: Some station actions identify a battle station on another starship or require an identified battle station. When identifying a battle station, a crew member learns the actions that station provides for the target starship. On the first successful Scan Target, a crew member learns the target starship's model name. The starship's model and its identified battle stations are recorded on the crew's starship. If the crew faces a starship of the same model later and Scans Target against it, they automatically identify the battle stations they recorded this way.

Station: Actions with the station trait can only be performed while helming a battle station. Most are granted by a specific battle station.

Sensors: A starship uses sensors to detect enemies and hazards. Many actions have a range equal to the starship's sensor range value.

While helming a battle station, crew members can generally Aid allies helming other battle stations on the starship. This might take the form of the envoy helming the pilot's console maneuvering to give the soldier helming the gunnery a better shot, or the witchwarper helming the magic conduit channeling their magic into the starship's shields to help the mechanic helming the generator. GMs might determine that Aiding in this way under certain circumstances isn't possible.
