SFS Standard Ancient Cosmic Dragon Creature 19

These majestic dragons embody the stellar forces that underly and balance all that exists in the universe. Cosmic dragons are wise, social, and patient beings, accepting of all whom they come across; they see all creatures as equal components of the universe and are just as likely to be found discussing astrophysics in the company of scholars as they are to be found lamenting the twists and turns of fate in the company of the downtrodden. Most cosmic dragons can change their shape, though they usually only do so to make other creatures comfortable. They detest deception and always introduce themselves as dragons even while in another form.

Cosmic Attunement (divine) The cosmic dragon is always attuned to an underlying stellar force: either photons or gravitons. They can swap attunement as a free action once at the start of their turn in combat and is otherwise attuned to whichever force they choose at any time outside of combat. The dragon's melee Strikes deal an additional 2d6 fire damage while they're photon-attuned and an additional 1d6 bludgeoning damage plus Knockdown while they're graviton-attuned. The damage of their cosmic blast Strike is likewise determined by their current attunement, as are the effects of some of their other abilities. The dragon can choose to exclude any creatures from any effect of the aura or action that uses the aura. The dragon can always sense the distance and direction to the nearest Drift beacon and to the Starstone on Absalom Station.
Draconic Frenzy [two-actions] The dragon makes two claw Strikes and one tail Strike in any order.
Draconic Momentum The dragon recharges their Stellar Breath whenever they score a critical hit with a Strike.
Stellar Breath [two-actions] (divinespirit) The dragon unleashes divine power like that from the core of a star or black hole, dealing 13d10 spirit damage in a 50-foot cone (DC 41 basic Will save). The dragon can't use Stellar Breath for 1d4 rounds.
Stellar Mote [one-action] The dragon conjures a mote of stellar energy that shares their current attunement. They direct the mote to a square within 90 feet. While the mote is deployed, the dragon's attunement aura also emanates from that square, with the same emanation radius. The dragon can Sustain to move the mote up to 90 feet or to recall the mote from any distance. The mote is made of cosmic energy, doesn't occupy a space, and can't be targeted or destroyed by any effect.
Stellar Pulse [two-actions] (concentratedivine) The dragon imposes an effect on creatures within their attunement aura. The effect is chosen for each creature and is not based on the dragon's current attunement. The dragon can't use Stellar Pulse again for 1d4 rounds.
  • Graviton Each creature must succeed at a DC 41 Fortitude save or be immobilized for 1 round.
  • Photon Each creature becomes quickened and can use the extra action only to Stride or Strike.

Dragon

All dragons across the galaxy are fierce, cunning, and strongly connected to magic. Many dragons, especially those who trace their lineage to pre-Gap worlds, are confined to the planets where they’re born and live their long lives without ever traveling to other worlds. Spacefaring people have had increasingly frequent encounters with creatures once known as “outer dragons,” those who can travel through the vastness of space. Now, most people simply call them “dragons,” though dragons who aren’t native to the planet they’re visiting (or invading) might be called “alien dragons” by the people contending with them. Whatever their origin, these alien dragons, like others who have existed for millennia, grow in size, strength, willpower, and magical might as they age.

Draconic Spellcasters

To make a dragon spellcaster, remove the dragon's Draconic Frenzy and draconic momentum abilities, and give them the spells outlined in their associated sidebar. You can swap out any number of these spells with others on a one-for-one basis. You might also increase the dragon's Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma modifier by 1 or 2 to reflect their mastery of magic.
