SFS Standard Tax-Class Civil Robot Creature 1

Robotic tax collectors are used to track down debtors with outstanding payments and harass them into paying what they owe. AbadarCorp was the first such entity to utilize the technology and owns, operates, and rents a majority of the tax-class civil robots in the Pact Worlds to this day. AbadarCorp takes a portion of the payment and monitors their robots to make sure the transaction is legal, adding to the perceived legitimacy of these devices and shame of being followed by one in public. The robots will usually leave once given a small portion of the payment, often enough to pay any late fees, fines, and the cost of using the robot just to remind the debtor of their obligations; they're often treated as a minor but embarrassing nuisance and paid to leave without any trouble. Robots repurposed by loan sharks are often accompanied by other agents and programmed to collect payment in full.

Tax Collector A tax-class civil robot can be placated by paying the fees, fines, or taxes it seeks to collect by offering the robot a credstick with an Interact action. If the robot takes a target's equipment (see repossession), it will count half the equipment's value toward the total tax owed. A creature can attempt a 3-action activity to fool the robot by Hacking it using a hacking toolkit and succeeding at a DC 18 Computers or Accounting Lore check. Programmed to accept many forms of payment, the robot takes a –2 penalty to AC and saving throws against actions that use a Computers check, such as the Combat Hack skill feat.
Reactive Disarm [reaction] Trigger A creature within the robot's reach attempts a melee or ranged Strike against the tax-class civil robot with a held weapon; Effect The robot uses its gasping hook to attempt to Disarm the triggering creature's weapon with a +1 circumstance bonus to its check.

Repossession When a tax-class civil robot succeeds at a check to Steal or critically succeeds at a check to Disarm an item, it immediately picks up the item (if necessary) and stows it in a lockbox in the robot's frame. The robot can open the lockbox with a single Interact action without difficulty, but others must Pick the Lock (DC 18); a creature that attempts to do so while the tax-class civil robot is aware takes a –4 circumstance penalty to the check.

Robot, Civil

Civil robots can be found in almost any large settlement, employed by the local government. They aren't meant to function as keepers of the peace, but instead perform minor functions, such as collecting refuse, aiding citizens with information, or collecting taxes. However, they can still defend themselves against vandals if necessary.
