SFS Standard Entu Colony

Entus are telepathic fungal colonies that can form a perfect symbiosis with animal hosts. A willing entu host transforms into an uplifted thinking creature possessing a dual soul fused permanently in harmony with its entu companion.

Entu symbiotes are created when an unintelligent animal consumes entu spores. If you want to play a friendly fungal colony and its host, you should play an entu.

You Might…

  • Say “we” and “us” when speaking about yourself.
  • Be fastidious about your personal space to prevent accidental contamination.
  • Enjoy cooperating with others.

Others Probably…

  • Are fascinated by your appearance.
  • Wonder if you're a parasitic host.
  • Fear contamination from your spores.

Physical Description

In their natural form, entu spores grow long mycelia and colorful fruiting bodies, weaving with other entu into vast, tapestry-like colonies. Most entu symbiotes appear as animals with uncannily expressive faces and gestures, covered in bright mushrooms sprouting from their fur, skin, feathers, or scales. The concentration of entu mycelia and fruiting bodies increases as the host ages.

Society

Entu spores fell on many worlds, but they thrived on Agillae-2's abandoned forests where they joined with bat-like neleks to become the first symbiote called nelentu.

Beliefs

Entu partnerships believe in reincarnation. Deceased hosts nourish generations of new spores, and entus never die as long as another of their kind exists.
Popular Edicts help others grow, respect consent, thrive together
Popular Anathema selfishly harm another

Sample Names

Entus view all individuals as parts of the same whole and see no purpose in differentiating themselves from one another. Entu symbiotes tend to adopt simple names that identify them to outsiders, usually based on their societal role or physical appearance. Some entu symbiote names include Bright Eyes, Gardener, Fury, Moonsinger, Protector Gray, Red Wings, Silver Tufts, and Treat Maker.
