Akiton is a dusty, red world of sunbaked deserts, rundown cities, and rusting scrapyards. Akiton was once a booming industrial paradise overflowing with wealth from mining thasteron, a starship fuel that fell out of favor after the discovery of hyperspace. Now, Akiton is a decrepit battlefield for corporate interests, crime families, and survivalist communities.
The fourth planet from the sun, and once the closest planet to Lost Golarion, the red planet of Akiton is a dying world. Even in the Gap's aftermath, people looked at Akiton as a driver of economy with its critical fuel source for travel, the substance known as thasteron. All Akiton's standing and golden opulence turned to bitter ash with the advent of Drift travel. In the following three centuries, the red planet has become an everexpanding wasteland ruled by petty city-states and beholden to ruthless corporate interests.
