SFS Standard Caypin Creature 6

Caypins are brawny predators with the agility of wolves and the scaly skin of crocodiles. Their most striking feature is a mass of wriggling, semi-sentient appendages that cover their heads. Each of these tentacle-like protuberances contains a bloodshot eyeball and a gaping mouth full of teeth, and the caypin— which has no eyes or mouth of its own—relies on these orifices to see and feed. Nutrients absorbed by the appendages are passed to the caypin via tiny receptive sockets in the beast's jaw, and caypins can detach these appendages into writhing clusters that independently move up to 100 feet from their bodies. In the wild, caypins use these clusters to ambush prey, and the creatures are known across the galaxy for their rapacious ability to consume half of their body weight in raw meat.

Appendage Cluster A caypin's detached appendage cluster is a Small, mindless, semi-independent creature controlled by the caypin. It has the minion trait, darkvision, 30 Hit Points, a land Speed of 20 feet, and a swim Speed of 15 feet. It shares the caypin's AC, saving throw bonuses, and skill modifiers. The caypin can see what its appendage cluster sees and otherwise shares its senses with the cluster. Each round, the caypin can Command a Minion to grant an appendage cluster 2 actions. An appendage cluster can make jaws Strikes (Melee [one-action] jaws +14, Damage 2d4+3 piercing) and has the Cluster Onslaught ability. If the caypin is killed, any detached appendage clusters are also killed. Any appendage cluster that moves more than 100 feet from the caypin dies instantly. If both the caypin's detached appendage clusters are destroyed but the caypin still lives, the caypin is blinded until it regrows at least one of its appendage clusters. A dead appendage cluster regrows in 3 days.
Aquatic Ambush [one-action] 40 feet
Cluster Onslaught [one-action] (attack) An appendage cluster attempts an Acrobatics check to Tumble Through a creature's space. On a success, the mouths of the cluster gnash and gnaw at the creature, dealing 3d8 piercing damage. If the Acrobatics check was a critical success, the target also takes 4 persistent bleed damage.
Detach Cluster [one-action] (manipulate) The caypin detaches half of its facial appendages into an appendage cluster that occupies a single adjacent square of its choice. A caypin can have up to two appendage clusters detached at a time, and if both clusters are detached, the caypin can't make jaws Strikes or Detach Cluster again until at least one cluster reattaches. An adjacent appendage cluster can reattach to the caypin with an Interact action.
