Laser Wolf

Native to the green world of Castrovel, the tashtari has become known throughout the wider galaxy as the laser wolf. Wolflike pack hunters, tashtaris have a layer of flexible filaments that emit phosphorescent lights and allow them to silently communicate through a bespoke visual language. Each tashtari possesses a node within their throat that allows them to channel their stored solar energy and unleash a beam of focused light, giving them their moniker of laser wolves. A mating pair, consisting of one or two alphas, leads packs of tashtaris, who generally become the apex predators of large areas with one or more forested regions. The presence of trees is important for the nocturnal tashtaris, who sleep on the treetops during the day to bask in sunlight and recharge their solar energies.
