At first look, quyus appears to be a small, adorable creatures, likely resembling a pet or helpless animal. This appearance is, however, a ploy meant to lure unsuspecting creatures into their grasp. Their true form is a two-headed twisted knot of flesh with eyeless sockets and gaping maws dripping with acid—and they're far from helpless.

Quyus can live without air, food, or water indefinitely. They have a dangerous combination of bottomless curiosity and complete lack of concern for other species' well-being. They originate from a now-Diasporan asteroid, though due to their disguises, they've spread to countless planets undetected, where they hunt and dissect creatures for their sadistic pursuits.

These solitary creatures prefer to observe an area's wild and domesticated species before infiltrating the peripheries of a civilization. There, they establish quiet cover identities, often as children's pets, only to capture and vivisect unsuspecting victims.

Quyus take on whatever appearance they believe is most likely to be considered cute by whatever beings inhabit their environments, even if the creature they mimic has no place in the world's ecology. They might take on the form of an adorable, mundane cat, rabbit, or similar fluffy creature, even in the middle of an asteroid mine or in the deep sea.
