Title The Forge
Location Pact World
Aballon is a rocky, cratered world of superheated metallic deserts and deep ice wells. Thousands of years before the Gap, a mysterious civilization called the First Ones utilized Aballon's abundant metals and solar energy to build a host of servitor machines. The First Ones tasked their machine progeny with harvesting the planet's resources—and then they left. Abandoned by their creators, the machines upgraded themselves over time and formed their own societies. The machines, now called anacites, have evolved into many forms and functions and established a utopian civilization where androids and other synthetic beings are welcomed as siblings.

As the closest world to the sun of the Pact System, Aballon is a warm ball of rock and precious metals. Its natural environment is a vast landscape of gray rock, replete with visible mineral veins and broken by the presence of impact craters and vast mountains of rock and iron. Little atmosphere envelops this planet, and beyond the protection of the immense megaplex settlements survival is difficult for any traditional organic lifeform. However, hidden atop and under the planet's surface are precious metals sought by countless civilizations, the ice necessary for environmental engines which facilitate non-robotic life-forms on the world, and the ruins of the mysterious species known as the First Ones.
