The Plane of Wood exists between the Plane of Water and Air. The plane had a great resurgence following its return from seclusion in ages past but has since fallen into a state of rampancy. Like a fractal tree growth, it has seen less and less tending and shaping and has instead begun devolving into regions of asymmetry. The genies of the plane, kizidhars, once tended to the plane's growth as artists but now do so more out of duress and necessity than for enjoyment.

Thanks to the technological evolution provided to countless civilizations by Triune's Signal, the importance of the Plane of Wood has greatly diminished. Civilizations in the Universe seek to build technological feats, focusing their attention on the resources from the Planes of Earth and Metal. Even factions like the Xenowardens can't provide support to the Plane of Wood as they focus their efforts on the rampant destruction of ecologies in the Universe. The two elemental lords of the plane have had a former disagreement escalate into all-out conflict. Shumunue, the Carved Lady of Mimicry, has sought to guide the plane's inhabitants to focus their efforts on tending the plane's rampant growth. Meanwhile, Verilorn, Custodian of Oak and Ash, radicalizes many to try to once again cut off the Plane of Wood from the other elemental realms in an effort to protect themselves and stem the ongoing threatening growth.
