On six recorded occasions, individuals having prolonged contact with Paradox 17 continued to display anomalous behavior afterward. Two expressed belief they were dreaming, four that they were in a hostile simulation. One of these latter individuals insisted on “finding the light again” during an interview before walking through their guards and the holding cell wall, and they haven't been seen since.

All Creatures in "Paradox 17"
Can you ever really know that the Universe you perceive exists? That you'll never awaken one day to find it was all a dream? A planet full of philosophers sought the answers to these questions once upon a time… shortly before they all vanished en masse. They left behind confusing records stating that the light of a “whirling star” revealed that physical matter had no substance and the Universe was secretly a mental prison. These records are all that remain from the first known encounter with the being known as Paradox 17.
